Sometimes, we as children of God can forget that we are…children of God.
Our attitudes, our thoughts, our way of living - we can forget who we are or even feel like we aren’t able to be God’s kids because we don’t “feel” it or we can think we are so far gone that God wouldn’t want us to be around Him because we’re covered in all the muck of our sinful flesh.
But can I just say, God’s grace is MORE. And He welcomes you into His presence.
His blood purifies. We don’t have to have it all together BEFORE we approach His throne of grace but we are cleansed and purified AS WE ARE IN HIS VERY PRESENCE.
He welcomes us in whatever state we are in.
Lately I’ve been thinking about a table - God’s table.
Did you know that you have a seat at the table the King has prepared for you? Because Jesus died and rose again and He raised us up with Him, we have the ability to enter in and feast at His table. We can partake in fellowship with Him and take a seat in His very presence.
The enemy wants us to think that our seat has been replaced with a different nameplate - that because we’ve drifted off or slipped up, our spot has been removed.
But He seats us with Himself in a place of honor and glory. (Eph 2:6)
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” Psalm 23:5
He doesn’t have the table ready for you when you’re perfect and ready. Or when you have it all together.
He prepares a table in the presence of your enemies.
In the presence of your doubts.
In the presence of your anxieties.
In the presence of your depression.
In the presence of your brokenness.
In the presence of your lack.
In the presence of your [fill in the blank].
There is NOTHING that will prevent Him from setting the table before you. He will ALWAYS show up.
You have a seat at the table and are welcomed in. Into His very presence. You have access. So don’t wait until tomorrow or next week to feast at the table but enter in NOW and receive all that Christ has prepared before you.
“Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.” Luke 14:15
