The subject of reconciliation has been stirring in my heart for a long time. If you know me, I always want a solution or a resolution. It is because I so desire restoration and harmony! Reconciliation seems impossible at times. And some of us, would rather avoid it entirely.
You know, God helps us do some impossible things especially in the areas of forgiveness and restoration. I truly believe reconciliation starts with us. We have been designed to make a difference and affect the course of history. So, can we step in and stand in the gap as 2 Corinthians 5:18-19?
“Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us.”
Reconciliation is our ministry! We have to take continuous strides of action to have reconciliation be a part of our daily lives. So, where do we begin?
Be wise with our words. Including the things we post. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Proverbs 18:21 ESV
Learn to grow! We must not allow our love to grow cold during these turbulent times. “And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:12 ESV
Engage. “Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.” Proverbs 3:6 TPT
LISTEN. “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry…” James 1:19 NIV
Get involved and understand history. When we understand history, we are able to create new solutions. We can do better. Love better. And be better. After all, we are accountable for all we choose to do.
When we allow offenses to take precedence in our lives, it causes us to not see clearly. And that is where we will miss the points where God was involved.
I want to encourage you to pray and simply ask to see with eyes of the Spirit and not of the flesh. Allow God to change the lenses of your life so that the lens of your heart reflects the true love of Jesus Christ. When our vision begins to change, our hearts and our minds follow.
I bless you with love, peace and joy!
