True Freedom

As we celebrate Independence Day, we're reminded of the incredible freedom we enjoy as Americans. But even greater than political freedom is the freedom we have in Christ.

Many people spend their lives searching for freedom, from fear, guilt, shame, comparison, and the pressure to be enough.

The good news of the gospel is that Jesus came to set us free from the power of sin and to give us new life.

Galatians 5:1 says, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

True freedom isn't found in doing whatever we want. It's found in knowing whose we are.

Because of Jesus, we are forgiven, loved, chosen, and secure.

We no longer have to earn God's approval, we live from it.

This week, as you gather with family and friends, take a moment to thank God for the freedoms you enjoy and for the even greater freedom found in Christ.

Let His truth remind you that you are no longer bound by your past, your mistakes, or your fears.

You are free to walk confidently in the life He has called you to.
