A man. Hated and adored. Followed and resented. He had the heart and attention of many. Thought to be false, vain or of the devil. Also thought to be the One True Messiah. Generous, outrageous and miraculous was He.
An important feast and this man shouts to the crowds, “All you thirsty ones, come to me! Come to me and drink! BELIEVE in me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!”
He spoke prophetically about the Holy Spirit, whom those that BELIEVE would soon receive. But the Holy Spirit had not been poured out on them yet, because the man had not yet been unveiled in his full glory.
Who is He?
Who is this man?
Some said Christ their savior. Some said prophet. Arguments over what was written caused division.
Could satan make blind eyes open?
Arguments about the nature of the miracles He did, caused more division.
Religious and government leaders rejected him. Convinced his followers were deceived.
No one had ever spoken like this man before.
He captivated them.
The authorities were jealous.
They tried to manipulate, test and trap him. He stood in love, walked in grace and knew His identity. He proclaimed who He was. The light, the truth, the way, sent from His Heavenly Father. The one and only God. Proof in the miracles He walked in. The dead brought back to life at His command.
“I am the resurrection and the life; he who BELIEVES in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and BELIEVES in Me will never die.
Do you BELIEVE?” - Jesus
