"So Abram went forth as the Lord had spoken to him..." Gen 12:4
Abram was in the midst of dealing with the death of his father, Terah, when the Lord gave him his “life verse”. The Lord speaks life and hope to a broken Abram in Genesis 12:1-3. Words that would transform his life forever.
Abram is told to leave all that he knew, to pick up and go.
It wouldn’t be family or the familiar that would bring the comfort Abram needed but a full dependence upon God.
God’s plan was to bring tremendous blessing upon Abram but Abram needed to trust God. One of those, ”lean not on your own understanding” moments before it was an official verse. This came in the form of Abram going forward.
“Abram, you want to receive this blessing, this promise that I speak? Go forth.” So he did.
You know Abram made some questionable decisions but God’s promise and favor still laid upon him.
No matter your current situation, no matter how bleak things may appear, or choices that look like they set you back, you have a Heavenly Father who longs for you to trust Him so that He can lead you forward.
I believe there are many of us with some promises from God sitting in the margins of our Bibles, in some forgotten journal, or in the notes of our phones.
Maybe you’re questioning if God really spoke those things to you because you never saw them come true.
Trust God and Go forth Worthian!
